Discovered Torticollis Clinic Nearby

Today, Kellyn had an appointment with her physical therapist from the early intervention program.  I am still so thrilled that she comes to our house for the appointment.  That makes it so much easier!  Anyways, her PT shared some extremely helpful information with me.  She told me about a torticollis clinic at Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC.  That's less than one hour away from us.  You better believe I was on the phone almost immediately scheduling an appointment there.

So I learned a bit more about the clinic today.  Basically, you start with an evaluation with a nurse practitioner and a physical therapist who both specialize in the treatment of torticollis.  Through my little experience dealing with this condition, it seems that many medical professionals have a general knowledge of torticollis.  However, it is rare that you meet someone who has an in-depth knowledge of the condition.  So I am more than excited to have Kellyn checked out by these specialists.  I am interested to see if they discover any other contributing factors to her torticollis and if they have any other additional recommendations pertaining to her treatment plan.  I am especially curious to see if they might recommend adding chiropractic appointments to her treatment plan.  The more I talk to other parents of children with torticollis, the more positive feedback I am hearing about chiropractic used in conjunction with PT for treatment.  I am super excited about this upcoming appointment.  The only negative is that our appointment is over a month away.  I am hoping the clinic will have a cancellation in the meantime, so we could take that appointment to get in earlier.
