Based on the positive reviews I have heard from other parents, my husband Ryan and I decided to make a consultation appointment with a chiropractor. This chiropractor came highly recommended by our daughter's outpatient physical therapist. This chiropractor has experience working with babies and torticollis. Ryan and I agreed that this appointment should be a consultation only. We do not want Kellyn to have any chiropractic work done at this point. We just want the chiropractor to look at her and provide us with a potential chiropractic treatment plan.
We also want to take the time to ask her questions about the treatment process. I don't know much about pediatric chiropractic work at this point, so perhaps my fears and skepticism are unfounded. That being said, my biggest fear is that Kellyn could get paralyzed or injured from a chiropractic adjustment. Ryan and I want to find out all possible risks and benefits of chiropractic treatments on babies with torticollis. I am also quite interested in determining whether there is any scientific studies proving the efficacy of pediatric chiropractic on babies with torticollis.
We are also interested in whether or not the specialists at the torticollis clinic believe Kellyn is a good candidate for chiropractic. If they believe that it could help Kellyn recover faster and they believe it is safe, then we will be much more likely to move forward with this type of treatment. And of course, the final deciding factor is whether we feel that God has given us His blessing on moving forward with this type of treatment. I will continue to pray about receiving His guidance on potential treatment options.
